1. These are the things I learned from our first assignment.

Internet - it is the network of all networks.

Worlwide web - one of the services offered by internet; this are websites.

Blog - it is an online journal.

URL - (Uniform Response Locator) it is the address of the reference of a source and it is usually seen in the address bar.

Browser - examples of this are Mozilla Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer.

HTTP - it is also seen in the address bar. It is also needed to locate the address of the reference.

2. After this class, the applications I'm going to continue to use are Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, and Google. I have Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo accounts before this class started. I was amazed by Google because it has many applications I never thought it has.

3. Prezi is a website where you can create powerpoint online. You can share prezi to other social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google+.  You can register here for free.

4. Through this subject I gained self-confidence in expressing my thoughts and ideas. I am now ready to socialize and make friends to other people. This subject enhanced my computer skills which is one of the qualifications when applying for a job.

Nograles Scholars Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Philippine College of Technology, dated March 11, 2013. The said event was sponsored by Cong. Karlo Alexei B. Nograles. The graduates were under the Oplan Kaalam, an Educational Scholarship Program of the Nograles Family. There were six graduates from Commercial Cooking and fifteen graduates from Health Care Services.

Pirates of Silicon Valley

The Pirates of Silicon Valley is a story about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates and the history of Apple and Microsoft.

The film was very interesting and amazing because it shows the history and the development of the two computer companies, the rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates and the piracy in the computer industry.

 

 

Steve Jobs along with his friend formed the Apple company.

 

Bill Gates formed a company called Microsoft that made software such as operating systems.

The movie highlighted how Apple grabbed the idea of the graphic user interface from Xerox, how Microsoft purchased the first Disk Operating System (DOS) from an underground programmer, and how Bill Gates developed Windows behind Steve Jobs' back. Through this, the two become one of the richest in the world.

Both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates have really made an outstanding contributions in the computer industry. Computers are extremely important in the modern world. In fast moving life, computers hold tremendous significance. Many of us feel crippled without computer. The importance of computers cannot be denied in the corporate or business world, in education, at the work place and even in one's personal life.

Hello! I'm Ma. Rochelle B. Polistico. I'm 21 years old, born on March 06, 1992. I'm recently residing at Km. 12 Blissful Village, Indangan, Davao City. I was the first child of Rogelio and Cely Polistico and I do have a sister, her name is Richelle.

I studied elementary at Pedro S. Carriedo Elem. School and had my high school at Davao City National High School. On college, I studied first at University of Southeastern Philippines and took Bachelor of Science in Biology for three years then I transferred  at Philippine College of Technology and took the two year program of Hotel and Restaurant Management.

I'm a member of Kapatiran Doble Olisi, an arnis organization founded by Master Mario Palazuelo.

My favorite food is siomai. I love the touch of pink, blue and green. I love beaches! Sea breeze relaxes me and gives me inner peace. I hate being fooled. I'm not a brand conscious and I don't wear stilettos! HAHAHA! Criterion for my love is being true for your words. I value purity of the heart. I'm in a relationship since 2010. :)

I'm jolly and an interesting girl with a good sense of humor. As soon as I meet new people who are happy to meet me, I feel extremely comfortable with them. I believe that friendship is one of the most important values in human life. We exchange new ideas, find many interesting things about each other and experience new things. I appreciate friendship and people who surround me.
